"Tits-Up in a Ditch" by Annie Proulx

Annie Proulx's story "Tits-Up in a Ditch" (The New Yorker, June 9, 2008) is the finest new short story I've read in years. It's a tragedy in short story form. Do not fail to read to the very end. (I'm sorry the story is not online yet; you'll have to find a copy of the June 9 New Yorker.)
